Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what Ezzfin does
Ezzfin is a multi-tenant cloud accounting application for Australian small businesses. We provide software that helps you record invoices, bills, expenses, payments, bank transactions, GST, and produce BAS working papers, plus standard financial reports.
What Ezzfin is not.Ezzfin is not a registered tax agent, not a BAS agent, and not a tax-lodgement service. We do not provide accounting, tax, or financial advice. The BAS working papers Ezzfin produces are designed to be reviewed and lodged by your registered tax or BAS agent with the ATO — not lodged directly by Ezzfin. Use of Ezzfin does not establish a tax-agent / client relationship.
In these terms, “Ezzfin”, “we”, and “us” refer to the operator of ezzfin.com. “You” means the individual or business entity using Ezzfin.
2. Beta status — what to expect
Ezzfin is in invite-only beta. By accepting an invite you accept that:
- The service is free during the beta period; you owe us nothing.
- Features may change, be added, or be temporarily disabled while we iterate.
- We provide best-effort uptime, support, and data durability — but there is no service-level agreement (SLA) during beta.
- Bugs are possible. Please email info@ezzfin.com when you find one.
- Pricing will move from “free during beta” to the published tier prices at general availability. We’ll email you at least 30 days before that happens, and the early-access rate will be honoured for everyone who joined the waitlist before GA.
3. Your account
Invitations
The Ezzfin beta is invite-only. We approve waitlist signups in batches. The email address that receives the invite is the only address that can accept it. Once accepted, you become the business administrator of a new business group.
Accurate information
You agree to provide accurate company details (legal name, ABN, GST registration, addresses) and to keep them current. ABN validation is structural (mod-89 checksum) — it does not constitute a representation that the ABN is registered to you.
Account security
- Sign-in is via email one-time passcode (OTP), with optional two-factor authentication you can turn on in Settings → Security. Keep your email account secure too (a strong password and 2FA on the email itself).
- Don’t share OTPs or two-factor codes. We will never ask you for one.
- If you suspect unauthorised access, review and revoke your active sessions in Settings → Security, then email us.
Inviting team members and accountants
As a business administrator, you can invite other users (normal users and observers) into your business group. By inviting them, you confirm that you have authority to do so on behalf of your business, and you accept that the data they create or modify is recorded against your subscription.
4. Your data
You own it
You own the data you enter into Ezzfin — your invoices, bills, contacts, bank-statement imports, attachments, BAS snapshots, audit log, everything. We hold it on your behalf so the software can do its job.
You can export it
Every report has a CSV download. Tax invoices and BAS working papers export to PDF + CSV. Bank statement imports retain the original raw row you uploaded. If you want a bulk export of everything tied to your business group, email us — we will provide a zip archive within 14 business days.
Backups
We take daily encrypted off-server backups of the production database with a 90-day retention window. Backups are operational — they let us recover from a server failure. They are not a substitute for your own export discipline (especially the BAS-lodgement working papers your accountant retains).
Connecting your own AI agent or other tools
Ezzfin does not use AI to process your data. If you choose to connect a third-party AI agent or other external tool (for example via our MCP connector), you do so at your own election and under that third party’s terms. You confirm you have authority to share the data — including other people’s personal information — with it, and Ezzfin is not responsible for what that third party does with data once it is sent. You can revoke a connection at any time. See our Privacy policy for the detail.
When you connect an AI agent, it communicates with its AI provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) directly, using your own account with that provider. Ezzfin is not a party to, and does not act as an intermediary in, that exchange — any data the agent sends is transmitted directly between the agent and its provider, under that provider’s terms, not through us. You are responsible for your own relationship with, and your compliance with the terms of, the AI provider you choose. To the maximum extent permitted by law (and subject to the Australian Consumer Law guarantees in section 8), Ezzfin is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party AI providers or AI agents you connect.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Ezzfin to:
- Send invoice emails, reminders, or any other communication from Ezzfin to recipients who have not consented to receive them — e.g. cold-mailing, scraped lists, or unrelated marketing.
- Misrepresent the “from” or “reply-to” address of email you send through Ezzfin in a way that would breach the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
- Upload content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property, contains malware, or is otherwise unlawful.
- Probe, scan, or test the security of Ezzfin’s infrastructure without our prior written consent. (We welcome responsible-disclosure reports — email info@ezzfin.com.)
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the service.
- Use Ezzfin to launder money or in connection with illegal activity.
- Use any automated means (scrapers, bots) to access the service in ways the user interface does not support.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section. Where practical we’ll warn you first; for serious or repeated breaches we may act without notice.
6. Fees, billing, and refunds
During beta
All Ezzfin features are free during the invite-only beta. There are no credit-card details on file and no charges. Free during beta is genuinely free — it is not a trial that auto-converts.
At general availability
When we exit beta, the published tier prices (Free / Basic $5 per month / Pro $15 per month) take effect. Prices are AUD and include GST. We’ll email at least 30 days before the change. You’ll be able to downgrade or cancel before any charge begins. Anyone who joined the waitlist before general availability keeps the early-access rate for the lifetime of an unbroken subscription.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from your account. There are no long-term contracts. On cancellation, your data stays available read-only for 90 days so you can export it (see “Your data” above), then it is deleted — subject to ATO retention rules on records you may need to keep.
Refunds
We don’t pro-rate monthly subscriptions. If something has gone materially wrong — an outage, a billing error, a feature that stopped working — email us and we’ll make it right.
7. Service availability
We’ll do our best to keep Ezzfin available 24/7. Planned maintenance, when it’s required, will be announced via email or in-app notice when reasonably possible. Unplanned outages, hardware failures, or third-party service interruptions (e.g. Resend email) happen — we’ll respond as quickly as possible. No SLA applies during beta.
8. Disclaimers, warranties, and liability
Your obligations
You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter into Ezzfin, for the timeliness of your tax obligations, and for any decisions made using reports Ezzfin produces. The BAS working papers Ezzfin generates are tools to help your registered tax or BAS agent — they are not a substitute for professional advice.
Our warranty (Australian Consumer Law)
Ezzfin is provided under the consumer guarantees set out in the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). These cannot be excluded. We provide the service with due care and skill, and we are responsible for failures to meet those guarantees where the law requires.
Limitation of liability (to the extent permitted)
Other than the ACL guarantees above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Ezzfin is capped at the total fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses (including loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, or reputational harm), even if we were advised they were possible. This clause does not exclude or limit liability that the law (including the ACL) does not permit to be excluded or limited.
9. Your indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any third-party claim caused by your breach of these terms or your use of Ezzfin in a way that is unlawful or infringes someone else’s rights — including any claim that an email you sent through Ezzfin breached the Spam Act 2003(Cth) or that content you uploaded infringed intellectual property.
10. Intellectual property
Ezzfin (the software, brand, copy, design system, documentation) is owned by us or our licensors. Using the service does not transfer any intellectual-property rights to you, except for a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Ezzfin while your account is active.
Anything you create using Ezzfin — your tax invoices, reports, BAS working papers, exports — is yours to use, store, and share with anyone, including your accountant.
11. Termination
You can stop using Ezzfin at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account immediately if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms or are using the service in a way that may cause harm to other users or to us. Where possible we will warn you first.
On termination, the “Your data” section above applies — you have a 90-day read-only window to export.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes (anything that affects your rights or obligations) will be emailed to you at least 30 days in advance. The latest version always lives on this page, with the “Last updated” date at the top.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and we both submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
Before going to court, please try to resolve any dispute by emailing info@ezzfin.com — most issues can be resolved quickly by email.
